Yes, I always feel saddened when a large and old tree comes down, especially. Recently I lost a lone, tall evergreen that stood near the converted house to office where I work. They took it down and built a new house that took up the entire lot. I had taken it for granted how much I enjoyed the birds that perched atop of it almost every time I came to work in the morning, stepped out for lunch, or left for the evening, but I really missed them as well as the ‘spirit’ of the tree when they were gone. The trees themselves are also a treasure, and taking down an old one can change a place completely.
And it changes the whole environment where we live.
Many people don’t understand that a single tree is not a just a tree, it is a part of our happiness, because we can feel ourselves happy only when we are in harmony with the environment, with the nature around us. Instead of saving the environment we continue to build new buildings from iron and concrete. One day we’ll wake up and see that everything around us is made from concrete and there is no place for a tree. I do not want to live in such world and I will do everything in my place to make the world better. I know that you are doing the same.

I hate it when people chainsaw trees, I always wonder what bird or little rodent has lost his home.
