Dear Readers, each October, tens of thousands of Amur Falcons (Falco amurensis) migrate through the Doyang reservoir in Wokha, Nagaland during their annual migration from Siberia to South Africa. Here, they are mercilessly targeted by hunters who kill over 15,000 of these raptors everyday for local consumption and for sale in markets. Arlen, this was shocking and so disturbing on many levels..
I agree with you, dear Judy! This is really shocking and in fact this is going on in 21th century! Really sad! These men do not do that for their real need (though it is not a justification in any way!), this is a real and very symptomatic example of human cruelty!

I was especially struck by the children too. A tradition that is being carried over to young people who will never really understand that what they are doing is cruel.

Thank you for the warning as I chose not to watch the video. Anytime I see animals being mistreated it deeply affects me. What a shame that in this day and age some people still have no regard for the life of innocent animals. Thank you for sharing and raising awareness.

Arlen dear, I watched the video! Disturbing! Terrible! It’s very shocking … I cried!
What do these people is a crime! Not fully agree with their criminal actions! They knowingly destroy nature!
All their criminal actions are premeditated and this should be incriminated!
I understand people’s struggle for survival! But not allowed for mass killing, birds or animals! Government there must find solutions that help people to live a decent life. Providing them with jobs, people have the possibility to buy food for each day. Not be forced, by hunger, destroying the biosphere.
I hope the authorities empowered to take action and apply the law to a halt this destructive act!
